Soap Toppings

I apologise for the long silence. We're desperately trying to get ready for the BBC Good Food Show in a couple of weeks and I've had no time to breathe. I've been making lots of cold process soap, mostly with success, but CP sometimes manages to catch me off guard with little surprises. I've made the best of the situations and grabbed my camera to record a few solutions. As a result, Gabi and I have put together a little tutorial on soap toppings over at That Soap Site. Some are solutions for seized or seizing soap, but there are others there just for fun. We hope you'll stop by for a look.

Finally, mistery solved! Much simpler than I imagined, super. Thank you very much!
BTW, with the "heart"-method you can shape "sea stars", "suns" and much more :)

And pretty fern patterns, but I've not quite mastered those yet!

If you're free on Sunday, November 4th, I have some free passes to the BBC Good Food Show. No pressure, of course, but if you'd like a couple please email me at gracefruit at gmail dot com. :)

How did you do those hearts???

Loving your blog. Will definitely include your blog and soap site in my favorites. Also, thank you for adding me in The Soap Site blog section.

Thanks so much!

There is a tutorial at That Soap Site that will show you how to do the hearts. It's an old cake-decorating trick.

Those are gorgeous!! Not only do I love the purple hearts, I love the colors throughout both loaves.

So soft on the eyes. :)

Hi Joanna,

Thank you so much! They are a lot of fun to make, and quite easy.

I love this blog, and I love your moulds! Can you tell me where you got them? The soap loaves are lovely, and so are the little half circular bars, but while I've seen the loaf mould before, I've never come across the half circulars...

As always, can't wait for your next post!

Hi Lily,

I got the half rounds from a supplier in the US, but last I heard, they weren't selling them anymore. I had to beg a friend in the US to sell me hers!
