For the third year in a row, a mama starling has decided our loft is the best place to lay her eggs. And this is despite our removing last year's nest. And of course she's chosen the space right above our bedroom cupboard, so every morning between 5:30 and 6:00 we are awakened by the desperate cheeps of some very hungry little birds. Judging from years past, this fun morning ritual will last about a month before the babies fledge and leave. Needless to say, I'll be up in the loft blocking any available entryways as soon as they're gone. Those little pests are extremely lucky that we love animals.

Aww, look at those poor little mites, so desperately hungry, you couldn't possibly be cross with them. Go collect some worms and feed them! :)
I usually end up rescuing one or two when they fall out of the nest and into my linen cupboard.
Oh they are so cute!
Hungry, noisy little blighters so no doubt you'll be up bright and early yourself for the next few weeks :-)
I'll swap you some bats????
Awe! They are so cute!! So cute and so annoying all at once =D
Last year I had 4 of them IN my bedroom. They were lost and I found them under a tree. All 3 learnd how to fly and how to shit in my kitchen.
And all of them survived:) At the moment we have kitten. So cute:)
AM, I would gladly swap you some bats. I love them! We have three types that come into our garden in the summer.
Heidi, they make a lot of noise for something so small.
Sannyas, we rescue birds almost every year. Last year was a starling and two years ago we found a baby raven.
Wow, thats one of my biggest dreams. To find a baby raven. You are a really lucky person:)
great photo!!!
The raven was very sweet. I'll see if I can find some pictures for you.
And I must admit the photo is stock. I'm too scared to get that close to a nest. :)
