Four Ingredient Cooking

If you like delicious, uncomplicated food, you might enjoy four ingredient cooking. I discovered this way of cooking a few years ago when my mom gave me a copy of The Cook's Encyclopedia of Four Ingredient Cooking by Joanna Farrow. Every recipe I've tried has been something special, and I love the variety of unpretentious meals. The four ingredient method is perfect for the terminally busy, or for anyone who likes home cooking without the faff and fuss.

It's so good! There is a feta and lentil dish we love.

Can you really get a variety of flavors with just four ingredients? If so, I need to look at that book. :)

I love simple cooking and simple food. But I don't usually read any cooking books, I just decide myself what ingredients to use. Anyway, that book might be nice for inspiration!

Sometimes I use only three ingredients but add a load of spices... I wonder if they count the spices into that 4 ?

Teresa, you really can. They do insist you use top-quality (ie a bit expensive) ingredients, but the payoff is loads of flavour.

Saara, they don't count water, salt or pepper in the four ingredients. They also offer little suggestions for additional spices for some of the recipes.

Well, I'm going to check it out, if our library has it, to test out some recipe before deciding whether to get a copy. :) Thanks!

Teresa, you can probably find some of the recipes on the net. The author is widely-published.
