My Favourite Book of 2008

I enjoy reading a lot, and every year, I like to reflect back on all I've read and choose my favourite. In 2007, it was Water for Elephants. For 2008, the book that wins hands down is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

Don't let the whimsical title put you off. While it is a work of fiction, it feels very real. And I found myself deeply attached to the characters -- so much so that I felt like I'd lost some friends once I'd finished reading!

Those are the very best kinds of books. I've been needing something to read--thanks so much for the recommendation!

I fully expected not to find this at our library, but there are 10 copies and 27 holds on them! Must be a really good book. ;)

I'm hold #28. Can't wait.

I read that book in 2008, too! I also loved it - I still remember the plot and characters, so that's saying something!

Dalene, it's great for a little afternoon escape.

Teresa, I hope it doesn't take too long. It's worth it, though!

Sherri, wasn't it great? I wish we could discuss it without giving anything away. :)
