Back Again!

The cutie in the photo is a common dolphin. We were joined by a dozen of them while on a wildlife cruise last week. They put on a fabulous show! There were also puffins, razorbills, and grey seals.

The fossil hunt was a success, too!

Good to see you had a great vacation.

Dolphins are the neatest animals! We just got back from vacation too, but yours sounds cooler than mine. ;)

So what did you find on your fossil hunt? We have many crinoids, and the occasional brachiopods, in our creek and in rocks around our house but have never found a trilobite or anything else.

Thank you!

Teresa, I found a nautiloid and a tooth! And photographed what I think might have been a fish (the rock it was in was HUGE).

How exciting! Can you post pictures of the fish fossil as well as the nautiloid and tooth? Was it a shark's tooth? My family loves that kind of thing. Thanks! :)

Thanks again!

Teresa, I will be more than happy to post some photos for you. I'll need to clean them up and crop them first. It might take me a little while. Someone (ahem) decided it would be a good idea to strip the ugly wallpaper in the kitchen today. If hell is personalised, I will be stripping wallpaper over the lake of eternal fire. ;)

LOL about your wallpaper stripping hell! Take your time...I need to catch up from being away for a while too.

That is a great shot of the dolphin!
I have never been so close to one. It looks like he/she was moving really fast. Did you get in lots of relaxing and great food? Those are my fav parts of vacation! Glad you're back! xoxo Heather

Teresa, I detest stripping wallpaper. It's a really horrible job, however, painting ceilings is a close second!

Thank you, Heather! We had a wonderful time and I'm rested and ready to start work again next week. Nearly. :)
