Fledgling

There was a commotion in our bedroom cupboard yesterday. A little starling had fallen from the loft. Fortunately, he landed on a pile of old clothes that have been put aside for the charity shop.

He's outside now being looked after by two very noisy parents. He's pretty fearless, but he knows to run and hide if I get too close.

And he doesn't approve of shutter noises.

We're keeping an eye on him until he learns to fly, which shouldn't be too much longer. He's able to go a few feet before crashing.

Hi Kendra! Birds are great. We have seven feeders on the go at all times.

Baby birds are quite funny. They look like grumpy old men. :)

I was going to comment that he looks like a little old curmudgeonly man, and then I saw what you wrote! He's very cute, if a little bit grumpy. :)

He's off to greener pastures this morning. I can still hear him in the garden, but he's keeping himself out of sight. His parents are up on the roof communicating with him right now. I think this little guy is a survivor, hence the grumpy look!
